July 6, 2014 - Portneuf to Quebec City

Parc Nautique Levy, Quebec City

Al had another wild ride today, facing the second highest waves he's ever encountered (after Barnegut Bay - see The Big Row), but still managed to log 38 miles and is spending the night at the Levy Marina in Quebec City.

He first pulled into the Quebec Yacht Club, where he feasted on a dinner of a cheeseburger and 3 cups of coffee.  Unfortunately, they wouldn't let him pitch his tent there, but the marina on the opposite side of the river welcomed him and insisted he spend the night in their gazebo so he would be sheltered from the rain.  (It's been cold, windy, and wet for most of the day).

The best news of the day is that new friend Gerald will be meeting Al for breakfast tomorrow to review and lend him charts for the remainder of the trip!
