July 7, 2014 - Night on the St. Lawrence

Al did continue rowing until dark, when the combination of rocks, waves, and wind convinced him that it was time to go ashore.  (He's again thankful that his boat is made of Kevlar.)  His GPS had stopped working at some point, so he wasn't sure exactly where he landed, although he did know that it was 47.5 miles from his starting point in Quebec City.  He was on a narrow beach and could see a town about 18 feet up a steep cliff.

With the tide rapidly rising, Al decided that he should find a better place to spend the night.  He finally came to rest about another half mile down the river, location still unknown, although he was looking at the bottom of a ski lift if anyone would like to try to figure it out!
